Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

In the last few years much progress has been made in our fair city including a new animal shelter, and maintenance shop for city workers to keep the city’s vehicle fleet up and running to keep our city going. And now in the not too far future, a new transit station will open. Good job city staff. In the last several years a complete rejuvenation of Moffat Boulevard has finally been completed. It was once the worse street in town is now ready for another overhaul.

Serious thought should be given by city staff and our city council to rename Moffat Blvd. to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. All major cities in our great nation have renamed a street or boulevard to honor Dr. King. Although Manteca is far from being a major city it is enough of a city to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Step up to the plate city staff and city council and rename Moffat Blvd., Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The city staff enjoys a King Holiday every January and now they should show their respect to the King family.
