David Paul Bayer, 76, entered into rest surrounded by his family on Monday, July 22, 2013 in Manteca.  He was born April 13, 1937 in Aurora, IL. David leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years Sharon Bayer of Manteca, his children are; John Bayer and wife Maureen of Redding, Debra Case and husband Derek of Manteca and Stacy Arimoto and husband Richard of Manteca. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda Eklund and husband Sam, Allison Case, Christina Bayer and Michael Bayer.

David was a Manteca resident for 13 years. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1955.  After high school he worked for Western Electric in San Leandro for the next 31 years, during its transition to AT&T and then Lucent Technologies, and retired as a Methods Analyst.  After retirement he owned and operated his own business as a phone broker for several years.
David was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren.  He was Cubmaster for his son’s Cub Scout troop and put on great Halloween parties for all the kids.  When his daughters played for the West San Leandro Bobby Sox League he was active as a coach for several years and served as the President of the league for a year.  He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.  An avid Oakland Raider and A’s fan he liked nothing more than watching the games with friends and family.  His wife was the center of his world and they loved to take casino trips and trips to the coast.  He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and family values.  He will be greatly missed.
