Burglars drove a vehicle into a Chevron station at 3 a.m. Monday for the second time in less than eight months, breaking out the front door and glass windows in the process.

It is unclear what merchandise was stolen by the thieves or the amount of damage to the store.  The store and gas station is located at the corner of Louise and Cottage avenues. By 10 a.m. a Manteca glass company was seen replacing the windows, door and door jam.

In the previous incident, which occurred last Christmas Eve morning, thieves crashed through the back of the convenience store and attempted to steal the ATM machine by hauling it away with a chain.

Following that incident, Ed Cardoza, the owner of the building, installed steel poles at the rear of the store to prevent a reoccurrence.  He said he will install similar poles in front of the main door by the gasoline islands facing Louise Avenue.
