A late model pickup truck crashed into a house at about 3:45 p.m. on Marguerite Avenue Monday afternoon, causing major damage to the structure, police said.

Melia Rae Ehrichs, 54, of Manteca, was driving her Chevrolet Avalanche pickup eastbound on Nicole Way where it curves south onto Marguerite Avenue. However, her vehicle continued in a straight line and crashed through a bedroom and closet near the entrance of the residence.

The woman was not hurt, but the mishap was caught on a police car’s dash cam by a unit traveling behind her truck at the time of the crash.  Ehrichs declined medical care from medics arriving at the scene.  Homeowners arrived showing concern about their family dog that had been in the house, relieved that it had survived the incident.

Firefighters braced the home with structural supports before a tow truck pulled the vehicle out of the house.
