OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder has named two new assistant coaches to its bench, a move that unites two local products.

General Manager Sam Presti announced Wednesday that former Ripon Christian basketball coach Mike Terpstra and Robert Pack have been added to the list of assistant coaches for the team.

They join Rex Kalamian, Mark Bryant and Brian Keefe on Head Coach Scott Brooks’ bench. Brooks grew up in Lathrop and starred on the East Union High and Delta College basketball teams.

Pack has spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent one season with the New Orleans Hornets before that. He is a 13-year veteran of the NBA.

Terpstra has spent time working at the college, junior college and high school levels, as well as the NBA Development League and the CBA. He played professionally in Turkey, England and Australia.

Terpstra won two state championships at Ripon Christian and was an assistant at the University of the Pacific. He also helped turn around programs at Modesto Junior College, Cal State Stanislaus and Northwest Nazarene.

In recent years, he’s served as a professional scout for both NBA and European pro teams, including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets. Terpstra is also the founder and CEO of the University Recruiting Group, a service comprised of former athletes and coaches that helps athletes through the collegiate recruiting process.

His daughters Andrea (2009) and Michelle (2011) were both standout athletes for Ripon Christian and are teammates at NCAA Division II Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.
