Vada May McKinnon

Beloved wife of Frank H. McKinnon (deceased), devoted mother of Sharon A. Phillips, cherished grandmother of Deborah Phillips, Bethany Zepeda, Jennifer Batchler, Megan Hackney, John Phillips, Matt Phillips and Kimberly Orlando. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was the treasured cousin of Sandra Boietenbacker, Linda Hoff and their families.

Vada touched many lives with her loving spirit, and positive outdoor on life. She was born in Oakland, CA and graduated from Oakland Schools. She received her college diploma from Oakland School of Province Hospital with her Associate of Applied Science degree. She served her career as a Registered Nurse and retired in 1978 after dedicating over 40 years taking care of others. Vada enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and most of all her favorite daily activities included her daily crossword, daily word jumble, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Friends and family attended a memorial service on Wednesday, October, 12 at 1 p.m. at The Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. IN lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Senior Center in Manteca.
