Dan Halliday of Manteca passed away on August 2, 2013, at Stanford at the age of 61. He was born on March 10, 1952 in Sacramento and lived in the San Joaquin county area for the past 34 years. He graduated from Pioneer High School in San Jose, CA and attended West Valley Community College. Dan was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the US Army from 1970 to 1972, and then in the Army Reserve from 1973 to 1976. During that time he worked as helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam 237th Med. Det. DMZ Dustoff and was awarded the Air Metal for Heroism. Afterwards he worked as a water treatment operator for the State of California. He also coached baseball, worked with the National Federation for the Blind in California, and taught Sunday school. He loved his children above all.
   Dan is survived by his seven children, Jennifer Kato, Elizabeth Greco, Jennifer Harvin, Buddy Halliday, Natalie Halliday, Chris McConnell and Brian McConnell, his parents, Earl and Jacqueline Boucher, his sisters, Debbie Ramierz, Sue Crawford, and Jane Vlach, and his sixteen grandchildren.
   A viewing for Dan will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Park View Memorial Chapel, 3661 E. French Camp Road,  Manteca, 95336. Burial will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 12:30pm, at 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road,  Manteca.
