As the student representative to the Ripon Unified school board, Blake Vizcarra will be in a position where his say will reflect student sentiment on some of the issues.

The Ripon High student was elected by his peers to work alongside the board at the end of last school year.

On Monday, board President Donna Parks will administer the oath of office to Vizcarra, whose term will go through the end of this school year.

This will take place during the 7 p.m. open session inside Ripon City Hall’s Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Trustees will also look at the following:

• Recognize administrators who have achieved highly qualified status through the state Department of Education.

• Hear an update by Ripon Community Athletic Foundation President Stephanie Hobbs on the Stouffer Field revitalization efforts.

• Approve the parameter for the proposed final reconstruction plan for Weston Elementary School made possible by the voter-approved Measure G, and necessary for the design team under the project timelines.

• Adopt the California School Board Association’s board policy updates.

• Vote on a proposal to conduct a superintendent search to help fill the void left when Louise Johnson took on the top administrative post at the Nevada Union High School District. Bill Draa, who is the retired Banta School District superintendent, is helping out in the interim.

• Get word on the Standardized Testing And Reporting (STAR) results as released recently by state Department of Education.

• Discuss the agreement for the provision of the San Joaquin Outdoor School program.
