2nd arrest in $11K theft of truck parts

RIPON  — William Hendy, 27, of Ceres has been arrested by Ripon officers as a second suspect in a recent commercial burglary and booked into San Joaquin County Jail, according to First Sergeant Steve Merchant.

Hendy and the original suspect Tony Arreola, 34, of Ceres were allegedly identified in the theft of some $11,000 in truck parts, including aluminum rims, electronic control modules and engine parts from Burns Truck and Trailer in the 1400 block of W. Santos Ave. in Ripon last week.

Ripon detectives located about $8,000 worth of stolen property in plain view in the back of the suspect’s truck.  The remainder has not been found, Merchant said.

Arreola was known to be on active California Post Release Community Supervision in Stanislaus County, police said..

Probation authorities assisted in finding the suspect, aiding officers in making the arrest.
