The Central California Junior Football League opener did not go well for the Manteca Jaguars this past Saturday at Turlock High, where they lost at three levels.

The junior varsity squad fell 38-13 despite a big effort from Angel Garay. He scampered for more than 200 yards and scored a touchdown on offense and added a 90-yard interception return for Manteca’s other TD on defense.

Jose Ceja led the defense with 12 solo tackles. Aaron Craig and Joshua Craighead were lauded for their line play.

The varsity team also lost, 38-8. Additional game information was not submitted. Manteca looks to reverse its fortunes this upcoming Saturday at Livingston.
