Members of the Manteca Senior Center Advisory committee are set to pay tribute to veterans from the community at a special gathering of former service men and women at the Manteca Senior Center Thursday at 4 p.m.

Hosted by the Manteca Senior Center, there will be a brief welcoming and tribute ceremony at 4:15 p.m., according to center director John Boore.  The event is being organized by Walter Bush of the senior center’s  advisory board.

The free three-hour event is going to include museum pieces honoring the contributions made by the local veterans made possible through the Manteca Historical Society.

The Foremost Barbershop Quartet will provide the entertainment and the Manteca Unified School District Color Guard is scheduled to post the colors.

Boore said “fancy finger foods” along with other refreshments are going to be available to those in attendance.
