Manteca Jaguars pummel Livingston in program-wide sweep

The Manteca Jaguars put on offensive displays at every level en route to a sweep of the Livingston Wolves last weekend.

The Jaguars were unstoppable on the ground, totaling more than 550 yards in victories at the varsity and junior varsity levels.

The Peewees attacked through the air with Lorenzo Ceja, who threw a pair of touchdown passes in their shutout win.

In all, the Manteca Jaguars surrendered just 13 points in three games.

Here’s a closer look at the Jaguars’ victories:



Varsity

Jaguars 46, Livingston 0


Kobe Shippley rushed for 160 of the team’s 550-plus yards and led the defense with four tackles.

Benjamin Rea, Jaylen Jackson and Eric Amavizca had interceptions. Amavizca returned his for a touchdown.

Jaysen Reindel, Enrique Cordona, as well as the offensive and defensive lines earned head coach Bill Shippley’s praise in the shutout.



Junior Varsity

Jaguars 26, Livingston 13


Angel Garay, Desmond Cannady and Reece Robinson sparked an offense that finished with 304 rushing yards.

Elaja White, Jose Ceja and Ryan Zimmerman led the defense, with Ceja and Zimmerman recording interceptions.



Peewee

Jaguars 46, Livingston 0


Jesse Mirranda reeled in two touchdown passes from Ceja, while Ryan Borgeson and Zane Salgado each had two rushing scores for the little Jaguars.

The defense did not allow a single first down.

Daniel Covarrubias and Anthony Vargas were highlighted for their play on the line of scrimmage.



Rookies


Kainoa Ontai scored three touchdowns, spearheading an offense that finished with 270 rushing yards.

Luis Mercado had five solo tackles and a fumble recovery. Braeden Campbell and Ricardo Villalzavo also had fumble recoveries for the Jaguars.

Diego Lopez and Andrew Robison anchored the line.
