The Manteca Patriots will dedicate their Thursday, Sept. 12, meeting to a solemn remembrance of those who lost their lives in the terrorist ttacks on Sept. 11. It will include a grateful tribute to courageous first responders both then and today.

The meeting will feature speakers, music, and visual aids to help remember the events and sacrifices of that day. The attacks were a series of four coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaida on the United States. All together, nearly 3,000 victims and the 19 hijackers died in the attacks.

Doors open at 7 p.m. There will be informative displays providing the 9/11 background available to browse before the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at Chez Shari (at the Manteca Golf Course). Everyone is welcome at this free remembrance and it will be devoid of politics. While they will exclude some of the most disturbing images of that fateful day, parental discretion is advised.

If you have a 9/11 experience to share, or for more information, visit MantecaPatriots.org.
