Stella Brockman School is hosting the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Carnival on Thursday, Sept. 18.

This annual event held in the school’s multi-purpose building will once again raise money for the Chili’s Create-A-Pepper Childhood Cancer campaign.

Included will be games and activities during recess and lunch, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Principal Candace Espinola said that 100 percent of the proceeds at 25 cents per ticket –that’s the cost to play the carnival games – goes to the cause.

Chili’s Bar & Grill in Manteca, in the past, has hosted a “Give Back Night,” donating 10 percent of the proceeds from that event back to the school.

Stella Brockman has raised thousands of dollars over the past five years to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures while saving youngsters with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

In addition, council and leadership students along with Chili’s employees have volunteered their time to work the various carnival booths and activities.
