Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I want to thank everyone for their help on the accordion. The one that broke was my black accordion and cannot be fixed. A new accordion is coming from overseas and should be here next month.

It may take a little more help but I hope to rent the train station on Moffat and do a thank-you concert. I want to also do this as a memorial to my mother Ethel D. Bain.

I believe something should be said for a woman at 66 who helped get out 53,000 petitions to save Amtrak and add on ACE rail.

I would like people to get behind a plan I have for ACE passenger service. It’s not the best but it could give us and Modesto at least two trains a day and not have to wait five years. One is for a Saturday and Sunday service. One of the trains stop from the valley would go to Sunol for Niles Canyon railway steam trains. Union Pacific runs most of their freight trains south in the morning.

So if we run a train out of Stockton between 4 to 5 a.m. and run via Manteca to Modesto, and cross over from Union Pacific to Santa Fe at Empire and back on its route to Stockton add on Riverbank and Escalon the run time between Modesto via Stockton (Santa Fe) would be about 15 minutes or less.
