Garay passes, runs for TD in Jags’ loss

ATWATER – Angel Garay accounted for two touchdowns, but couldn’t save the Manteca Jaguars junior varsity team from defeat Saturday.

The Atwater Falcons overcame a stout defensive effort by the Jaguars to post a 13-12 victory.

Garay rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown. He also connected with Dominic Rea on a scoring strike.

The loss was the program’s only setback. The varsity team won 33-14, while the Peewees raced out of town with a 33-6 decision.


Ricardo Villalzavo had two touchdowns and a game-high seven tackles, Kainno Ontai found the end zone and the Jaguars’ rookies rushed for 160 yards.

Score isn’t kept at this level.

Luis Mercado finished with three tackles and Alex Gatty recovered a fumble.

Gatty and Kash King earned the praise of the coaching staff for their play on the offense line.
