Jordan Doyle accounted for most of the scoring in the Manteca Cowboys’ 14-0 junior varsity win over the visiting Central Valley Panthers at East Union High this past Saturday. Drew Mount contributed two extra-point receptions.

Manteca’s varsity struggled with injuries and lost, 42-0.

Doyle amassed a big chunk of his 148 rushing yards on a 52-yard jaunt to the end zone in the first half. He was also instrumental on the defensive end, coming up with six solo tackles.

Julian Scoz led the defense with eight tackles. Anthony Martinez racked up seven tackles, and Alex Alexander finished with six to go with an interception. Carlos Gonzalez (two sacks), Gabriel Vollotton (sack) and Mount (pass deflection) each had five tackles.

DYSA NorCal action resumes next Saturday in Galt, where Manteca faces the Liberty Ranch Jr. Hawks.


Cowboys 33, Panthers 14

Kimoni Stanley set the tone for a big day on the opening drive, rushing for 77 yards and eventually the first touchdown of the game. He ended up with 203 yards on just 12 carries, and on defense he shared team-high honors with Nicco Cedolini by wrapping up for eight tackles.

Quarterback Eric Morales completed 5 of 7 passes for 64 yards and a TD. Daniel Morales had three catches and rushed for 68 yards. Jaden Tonoforan contributed a touchdown, his first of the season.

Frank Clark (6 tackles), Adrian Botello and Adam Garcia each had a quarterback sack.


Cowboys 18, Panthers 6

Alex Scoz carried the load offensively, rambling for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Cervantes collected 10 tackles for the defense, and Isaac Scoz finished with five.
