It was a Halloween extravaganza at the Del Webb community clubhouse that saw some 130 residents in costume take part in a wine and cheese party last week hosted by Doctors Hospital Manteca.

Hospital administrator Mark Lisa along with Eric McMurtrey and Kathy McKinsey hosted the event in the Lakeview Clubhouse.

Lisa welcomed the members of the Woodbridge at Del Webb Community giving them updates about future development plans surrounding the Manteca hospital.  Lisa outlined the various hospital departments and offered tours to any or all of the residents – always having an open door policy.

Awards for the best costumes went to partygoers in three categories:  best couple, best male and best female.

Pete and Marlene Riley took the people’s choice award for couples, dressed as astronauts in costumes that were homemade – their shoulder patches were the real thing.

Wearing a crown and a royal cloak, Marcia Umberger took the best female award in the costume contest for her favorite sandwich spread.

Wearing black and white stripes and a jail identification number across his chest, Walt Peterson took the top award for a man attending the wine and cheese party.

The hospital staff has provided several lectures over the last year to familiarize the new residential community members – most of whom have moved here from out of the area and out of state – with medical information about their new home environment and medical opportunities.

Dr. Ronald Yamada, Dr. Kisseng Hsieh, Dr. Thomas McNemar and Dr.Tan Tran have all spoken before the Del Webb community group over the last year.

Dr. Yamada specializes in orthopedic surgery and Dr. Hsieh is a urologist practicing from his office on Norman Drive.  Dr. McNemar specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery in the area of breast cancer surgery restoration.

Gastroenterologist Dr. Tran spoke before the Del Webb group earlier in the year with 30 to 40 residents attending each of the medical lectures.
