Ripon Unified is still trying to fill positions.

At Tuesday’s school board meeting, Michelle Ryan, who is the district’s human resource manager, mentioned just that during the announcement of the new hires.

“They’re all replacement positions,” she said. “We will have much more in October.”

Scrambling to fill positions, Ryan noted, may be a problem. “But it’s been a good problem to have (for RUSD),” she said.

Among the new hires are:

•    Ripona Elementary School sixth-grade teacher Laura Johnson.

•    Title 1 teacher Robin Dubbs at Weston Elementary School.

•    In student services, Crystal Guinnane, a licensed vocational nurse, and Maria Ramirez, speech language pathology assistant.

•    Ricardo Talamentes, who is the night custodian at Ripon High.

Each of the positions is for the 2013-14 school year. Dubbs’s post was listed as temporary.
