Dave Marques once graced Oxygen women’s exercise magazine’s firefighter calendar as Mr. December.

John Viss was the cover boy for an edition of Surfing Magazine.

Now Manteca Fire Department’s two most eligible bachelors are going on a double date – to the highest bidder(s) – in a bid to help the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca/Lathrop to raise $120,000 need to keep the doors open during the telethon on Nov. 23-24.

They are among a number of unique live auction items being offered this year ranging from a two-minute shopping spree at Grocery Outlet to a private wine tasting and dinner with San Joaquin County’s first family of winemakers, the Indelicatos.

Both said they are looking forward to helping the club raise the funds need to provide a safe haven after school for over 1,500 youth.

Marques, 37, is 5-foot-8, weighs 180 pounds, has blue eyes, and brown hair. He has been a part of the Manteca Fire Department for 18 years and now serves as a captain.

His idea of a perfect setting for a date is going to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

Viss, 27, is 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds with blue eyes and blonde hair. He works as a firefighter.

His hobbies include surfing, hiking, and physical fitness.

His idea of a perfect setting for a first date is going to the ocean.
