Two Manteca bands qualify for 46th annual Hayward Battle of the Bands

Two Manteca bands are finalists in the 46th annual Battle of the Bands in Hayward.

They auditioned on Jan. 10 against several other bands to win two of 12 spots in the final battle. Faded Dreams is an alternative rock band that has been together for 1-1/2 years and has released their first CD, which is now available.

Braata is a Reggae — Rock band that has been together for five months and is working on their first CD which should be released in the summer of 2009. The very talented and dedicated musicians range in age from 14-18 years old. They have worked very hard, under the direction of Gordon Kennedy of Janis Studios to be one of the finalists in this battle of the bands. The battle will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. at Chabot College Performing Arts Center, Hayward. This is open to the public and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
