Raymond B. Park

Raymond B Park died at the  age of 79 on Sunday, November 1. He was born on October 7, 1930 in Checotah, Oklahoma, to George and Nellie Park. He had two brothers and two sisters: Harold Park, Geneva Farmer (both deceased), Bob  Park of Checotah and Nina Brown of Juneau, Alaska.  

He is survived by his wife  of 56 years, Ruth, and two sons, Steven (and Donna) and Richard (and Arlene), as well as four grandchildren, Carolyn, Joshua, Brian and Tracy, and one great-grandson, Steven.  

Ray spent 20 years in the Navy  working as an aircraft mechanic.  During that time he went on seven cruises aboard aircraft carriers.  After retiring from the Navy, they returned to his hometown of Checotah for a few years before relocating to the Central Valley of California, Ruth’s home area, finally settling  in Escalon in 1977. He obtained his contractor’s license and worked in construction until his final retirement.  

Ray loved to travel, help others, and make people laugh. He was a member of Trinity Church Assembly of God in Escalon.   

Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Church in Escalon, followed by interment  at Burwood Cemetery.  Arrangements by Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon with an online guest book available at www.deeganfuneralchapels.com.
