Suspicious vehicles were reportedly seen near Ripon and Manteca area schools on Tuesday.

Ripon police received a call about a red Chevrolet Silverado crew cab pickup truck that was seen driving slowly in the area of West Milgeo Avenue and North Acacia Avenue around 6:30 a.m. It was reportedly driven by a Hispanic male.

The reporting party told a dispatcher that he believed it was the same driver and vehicle that had been following joggers in the area last week.  Ripon officers responded to the area but the vehicle could not be located.

Last Wednesday, Sept. 25, officers were alerted that a truck matching the same description being driven by a Hispanic male was seen driving slowly in the neighborhood of West Colony Road and Atlantic Avenue.  The caller said the vehicle had been seen in the early morning hours driving slowly by runners on the roadway.

In Manteca a girl walking to Calla High School on Yosemite Avenue and Austin Road complained about the driver of a vehicle motioning for her to come over to his blue pickup truck.  She ran and reported the incident to authorities at her school, police said.
