The two youngest squads for the Manteca Cowboys remain perfect in their first tour of the DYSA NorCal League.

The rookies were jump started by two long touchdown runs from Jaden Tanforan and Kimoni Stanley who starred in a 51-0 walloping of the Modesto Rams last Saturday at East Union High’s Dino Cunial Field. Even more impressive was that the rookies shut out six of their seven opponents this season.

Meanwhile, the Manteca starts contingent had three rushers rack up more than 80 yards en route to a 47-7 victory. Both teams are 7-0 going into next week’s visit to the Pittsburg Jr. Pirates.

Tanforan rambled 66 yards to pay dirt on the game’s first play from scrimmage, and the Cowboys were off and running. Stanley followed that up with a 68-yard touchdown run on their next series.

Stanley would make the most of his five carries, finishing with 165 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Frank Clark caught two passes for 76 yards, one of which went for a touchdown. Quarterback Eric Morales also hooked up with brother Daniel for a 20-yard TD strike. Eric Morales totaled 191 rushing yards, and two touchdowns — one rushing, the other a 98-yard interception return at the end of the first half.

Nicco Cedolini highlighted the dominant defensive effort with 11 tackles and two sacks. Xavier Mendez, Joey Aguirre, Clark and Stanley added six tackles each. Adam Garcia contributed five tackles and recovered a fumble.

Alex Scoz stood out on both sides of scrimmage. Offensively, he rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while leading the defense with six tackles and two sacks.

Quarterback B.J. Davis contributed 106 yards rushing and two scores. Isaac Scoz ran for 83 yards and a touchdown. Eric Barojas also chipped in a TD scamper.

Alex Cervantes pitched in five tackles on defense. Semaj Moore and Brandon Sena both recovered a fumble.
