The Ripon Unified school board accepted three resignations and four new hires at last Monday’s session.

In the case of Sara Swanson, who is a physical education teacher at Ripon High, her last day won’t be until Dec. 21.

Her husband was recently offered a promotion and is scheduled to begin his new job in Texas in January.

“This is bittersweet for my husband and me, as we are excited for this new adventure in our lives, but also very sad to move away from many family and friends and also my Ripon High and Ripon Unified family,” Swanson said in her letter of resignation dated Sept. 20.

Linda Garzoli, who was an instructional assistant at Ripona Elementary School, resigned from her position on that same day.

Leslie Cullinane stepped down as the instructional assistant at Weston Elementary School effective Aug. 30.

As for the new hires, Evangelina Stum is the new English Learner aide / liaison at Ripon High while Carlos Chavez is the new night custodian at RHS. Both were officially hired on Oct. 1.

Nicole Stock was brought aboard on a temporary basis at Ripona, where she’s currently working as an eighth-grade teacher.

Viviana Angula is the new Bilingual Para Professional at Weston.
