What are the Ripon Unified School District’s long-term and short-term facility needs?

That question and more will be addressed at Wednesday’s first-ever RUSD Facility Master meeting at 7 p.m. inside the Council Chambers at 259 N. Wilma Ave. in Ripon.

The first step was recently formulated with the appointment of a steering committee.

This task force is made up of a cross section of folks in Ripon, from school administrators – Principal Lance Morrow of Ripon High along with Lisa Fereria and Mona Ogden of Weston and Park View, respectively – to community organizations (Jen Brogan, Vince Hobbs, Karina Ilardi, and Jonnie Lan) and local government officials (fire Chief Dennis Bittters and RHS school resource Officer Trevor McGinnis).

This task force was created of those from a variety of experiences and perspectives, according to district officials.

The group will work to gather input from the community and staff in an effort to address RUSD’s immediate needs along with that of the next five and 10 years.

As a board-appointed group, the Facility Master Plan Committee will be required to operate under Ralph M. Brown Act on open public sessions.
