The Manteca Cowboys capped the DYSA NorCal regular-season with three wins at the Lodi Grape Bowl.

Led by Kimoni Stanley’s 140 rushing yards on just three carries, the still-undefeated rookies rolled to a 19-0 victory over the Lodi Flames.

The varsity (6-3) squad edged Lodi 22-20, while the JV (8-1) doused the Flames 35-0 behind Jordan Doyle’s four-touchdown effort. The DYSA NorCal playoffs begin Saturday with East Division games being hosted at Lodi Grape Bowl, Downey High, Galt High and Prescott Jr. High in Modesto.

Quarterback Joseph Espinosa (83 yards) rushed for a 41-yard touchdown while hooking up with LaFonzo Mackson for a 15-yard scoring strike. James Gorman (79 yards) scored on a 15-yard run. Mason James contributed a pair of 2-point conversions that Manteca ended up needing.

Doyle amassed 125 yards and three touchdowns rushing and scored one more off a 50-yard interception return.  Anthony Martinez churned out 85 yards and a TD on six rushes. Mathew Pilkay was a menace on special teams, racking up 100 return yards and 80 more from scrimmage on four carries. Sergio Espinoza had five tackles and a touchdown-saving pass deflection in his first defensive start.

Stanley broke out of the gates with a 58-yard TD run on the Cowboys’ opening drive. He later scampered 78 yards for another score. Quarterback Eric Morales added a 59-yard jaunt to pay dirt.
