Board recognizing students earning prefect STAR scores

Trustees of the Manteca Unified School District on Tuesday will recognize students who achieved perfect 600 scores in the California Standards Test.

The special recognition is scheduled to take place prior to the 7 p.m. open session in the district office board room, 2271 W. Louise Ave.

Last month, district officials honored half of the 48 students acing individual exams of the state’s Standardized Testing and Reporting.

The board will also recognize those students who contributed to the recent Ag Venture involving nearly 4,000 third-grade students from throughout southern San Joaquin County.

Other items on the agenda include:

•Superintendent Jason Messer is scheduled to announce the presentation of a Verizon grant check to Weston Ranch High’s band.
•The board will look to adopt “In Honor of Our Veterans” resolution.

•Trustees will consider taking nominations for California School Board Association’s delegate assembly.

•The board could approve short-term classified employees for specified positions and times.
