Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

The master mind of the Manteca City Council Vince Hernandez says he wants to see a mural painting on the new water tank that is being built. He wants to tell the world about Manteca as if people don’t know enough about Manteca already.

He wants people traveling up and down Highway 99 to see what a glorious sight this would be. Nonsense. This would be more of a distraction than a glorious sight. People zooming up and down Highway 99 had better pay more attention to their driving than looking at a huge water tank with some silly painting on it. If any painting is done perhaps it should be a large pumpkin or a giant sombrero, which would be more suitable for Manteca.  And now fellow councilman Steve De Brum is worried about the kind of paint that would be used on the tank and the money involved. No need to worry about the money Steve, the city has plenty of money to spend. If additional money is needed perhaps the city could borrow money from one of their favorite pals, a consultant, or a special tax could be forced on the tax payers. Or simply take up a special collection to paint the new tower. No doubt a consultant would be more than happy to step in and advise the city and Hernandez how to go about doing this project. Of course he would need a fat check for his advice.
