Ripon High’s new stadium flag pole is being dedicated this Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m.

The flag pole as well as the American flag were made possible through a joint effort of Ripon’s American Legion Post 190 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1051.

It stands adjacent tot eh state-of-the-art scoreboard on the eastern end of the field where it is also visible from Highway 99.

A commemorative plaque is n being placed on a 720-pound boulder.

Those attending are being asked to park on Maple Avenue and follow the signs to the Maple Avenue stadium gate. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

After about $1 million in donations, the Ripon Community Athletic Foundation has all but completed Phase I of the renovation at Stouffer Field.

Work on the stadium located at Ripon High consisted mainly of the infrastructure for future phases of the project.

Next up is Phase II of the project. Included will be the $350,000 synthetic track.

The big RCAF fundraiser will again be Rina’s Run planned for May 10, 2014.

Sponsors are being sought for the 7th annual event consisting of 5-kilometer and half-marathon runs.
