The Manteca Cowboys are sending two squads to Elk Grove this upcoming Saturday to compete in the DYSA NorCal Super Bowl.

Both teams battled the Central Valley Panthers in the East Division Championships at East Union High’s Dino Cunial Field this past Saturday. Kimoni Stanley scored the winning touchdown in the final minute of the rookies’ 27-24 victory. The starts relied on its defense to emerge victorious, 7-0.

Stanley came through with two clutch plays to propel undefeated Manteca (11-0) to the Super Bowl. Just before halftime, he halted a dangerous Central Valley drive on defense with an interception and returned it 50 yards. Stanley later punched in the final points with a touchdown scamper, bringing his rushing total to 140 yards on 14 carries.

Quarterback Eric Morales ran for 80 yards and a score on nine attempts and was 4-of-7 passing for 30 yards. Jaden Tanforan added five rushes for 40 yards and had a 10-yard touchdown catch. Daniel Morales ran for 37 yards on four carries. He also picked off a pass on defense.

The Cowboys’ defense secured the victory, as Xavier Mendez forced a fumble recovered by Angelo Lopez on the final Panthers’ series. They each finished with five tackles.

Joey Aguirre led the way with eight tackles, Frank Clark had seven and Nicco Cedolini (blocked field goal) and Derek Alicea chimed in with five stops each.

Alex Scoz rushed for 110 yards and accounted for the lone touchdown for Manteca (10-1).

Quarterback Bryant Davis completed a pass for 25 yards and added 38 yards to a balanced rushing attack. Nick Luna (47 yards) and Eric Brojas (25 yards) were other contributors to the ground game.

Nathan Cedoline, Richie Garnica, Christian Rosales and Robbie Espinoza had three tackles apiece. Davis contributed an interception to the defense.
