The Delta Rebels varsity team did everything it could defensively to stay in the game but score.

They dropped a 14-0 decision to the host Tracy Jr. Bulldogs in the Delta Youth Football League South Conference Championship on Saturday at Tracy High’s Wayne Schneider Stadium. It was a rematch of their Week-9 contest won by Tracy, 27-14.

Delta (8-4) was able to drive into Jr. Bulldogs (11-1) territory in the first half but couldn’t finish with points. Tracy took an 8-0 lead into halftime.

With Isaiah Sholund (12 tackles) leading the way, the Rebels defense continued to play tough in the second half but gave up another touchdown in the third quarter.

Tracy takes on the Northwest Trojans, 25-0 winners over the North Stockton Bengals in the North Championship, for the Super Bowl title on Dec. 7 at Edison High.
