PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico (AP) — Chiney Ogwumike scored 17 of her 22 points in the second half to lead Stanford over Purdue and earn Cardinal coach Tara VanDerveer her 899th career victory.

With her next win, the Hall of Famer will become the fifth women’s basketball coach to reach the 900-win milestone, joining Pat Summitt, Sylvia Hatchell, C. Vivian Stringer and Jody Conradt.

No. 5 NOTRE DAME 92,
No. 25 DEPAUL 76

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Natalie Achonwa scored 17 points and Kayla McBride had 16 to help No. 5 Notre Dame beat No. 25 DePaul 92-76 on Tuesday night for its second victory over a ranked opponent this season.

Taya Reimer had 15 points and 14 rebounds off the bench for the Fighting Irish (5-0), who won their 28th consecutive regular-season game and 15th straight at home.

No. 8 SYRACUSE 92,
CALIFORNIA 81

LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — Tyler Ennis scored 28 points and led two key second-half runs that carried No. 8 Syracuse past California 92-81 in the Maui Invitational on Tuesday.

The win put the Orange in the tournament title game Wednesday night against No. 18 Baylor, which edged Dayton 67-66.

No. 10 WISCONSIN 63, SAINT LOUIS 57

CANCUN, Mexico (AP) — Traevon Jackson scored 16 points, Frank Kaminsky added 12 and unbeaten Wisconsin fended off a Saint Louis surge to reach the finals of the Cancun Challenge.

Kaminsky added eight rebounds and four blocks for the Badgers (7-0). Jackson helped squash a second-half spurt by Saint Louis (5-1) that made it a five-point game with 1:10 to play.

No. 11 GONZAGA 113, CHAMINADE 81

Sam Dower Jr. and Gerard Coleman scored 19 points each as Gonzaga cruised to an easy win over Division II Chaminade in the Maui Invitational.

Przemek Karnowski had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-1), beaten by unranked Dayton the previous night. Kevin Pangos and Kyle Dranginis scored 18 apiece. Gary Bell Jr. had 16 and Drew Barham 11.

No. 12 WICHITA STATE 75, BYU 62

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Ron Baker scored 23 points, making six straight free throws down the stretch, and Wichita State held off BYU in the title game of the CBE Classic.

Fred VanVleet and Cleanthony Early added 12 points each for the Shockers (7-0), who trailed by two at halftime but used hustle and physical play inside to wear down the Cougars.

No. 13 CONNECTICUT 76, LOYOLA, MD. 66

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — DeAndre Daniels had 21 points and eight rebounds to help Connecticut remain undefeated with a win over Loyola, Md.

Ryan Boatright added 13 points and eight boards for the Huskies (7-0). Lasan Kromah, a transfer from George Washington, chipped in a season-high 12 points.

Dylon Cormier had 23 points for Loyola (4-1). The senior guard had been averaging just under 30 per game.

No. 18 BAYLOR 67,
DAYTON 66

Cory Jefferson had a go-ahead putback with 16 seconds left and Baylor rallied to beat Dayton in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.

After trailing nearly the entire game, Baylor (6-0) whittled away a 10-point deficit over the final 7 minutes and Jefferson’s layup gave the Bears a 67-66 lead.

Vee Sanford missed a contested shot in close for Dayton with 2 seconds left, Devin Oliver’s tip-in attempt bounced off the rim and Baylor grabbed the rebound as the final buzzer sounded.

Royce O’Neale and Kenny Chery had 13 points each for the Bears.

Jordan Sibert led Dayton (5-1) with 20 points and Oliver had 14.

Baylor trailed by 14 with less than 5 minutes left in the first half before going on a nine-point run to cut it to 33-28 at halftime.
