Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

The members of Soroptimist International of Manteca and I wish to thank you, Rose Albano Risso and Hime Romero for the wonderful coverage of our 34th annual Holiday Affair. Each year new and old friends gather to celebrate the holiday season for an enjoyable evening of friendship, while supporting our service mission: to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

We would also like to thank Amy Keiffer, Assistant Vice President/Community Branch Manager, Bank of Stockton, for the use of their facility and general support of our Holiday Affair. The students of the Interact Club of MUSD provided human resources before and after the event and their advisor’s Jeff and Tevani Liotard provided invaluable support during the event.

Manteca Soroptimist’s provide generous scholarships to at least 7 MUSD high school graduates, funding for the Teen Crisis Counseling Project of MUSD, and support for the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca, Raymus House Shelter, and Christmas Wishes, and Haven of Peace Women’s Shelter, among many others. We could not do that without the tremendous support of this generous community in attending our events.

Betty Ingell, President
