Jacki Sue Roberts, 57, went home to be with her Lord on November 23, 2009 in Modesto, Ca. She was born on May 19, 1952 in Eureka, Ca. She joins in heaven her late mother Rita Shields and brother Lance Shields.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by her beloved husband Arnold Roberts of 12 years. Her surviving father is Archie Shields of Manteca. Her loving children are daughter Bridgette Guin and husband Acy of Manteca and son Shannon Spohn and wife Burcu of Texas. She was blessed by 8 grandchildren: Andrea Guin, Chelsea Paige Guin, Karley Guin, Chase Guin, Ariel Spohn, River Spohn, Ilan Spohn, and Reign Spohn. In addition Jacki is survived by two siblings, Steve Shields of Stockton and Lanette Snow of Manteca.

Jacki was a resident of Manteca for 32 years. She was a stay at home mother and wife. She took great pride in taking care of her family and her home. She was always immaculate in everything she did.  Her family meant the world to her, and in turn she meant the world to them. She loved animals and adored her kitty Sassy and her Cocker Spaniel Angel. The holidays were always the happiest time for Jacki. She loved the lights, the smell of fresh-baked goods, the excitement and joy and the laughter of her grandchildren. She was an avid collector of Coca Cola products and knick knacks. She loved the ‘50s era and her S.F. 49ers. Road trips for Jacki were always adventurous. She loved traveling to Jamestown, Reno and Sonora.

Jacki’s hobbies included shopping and more shopping. She looked forward to the upcoming local street fairs, craft fairs and local department store sales. Every Friday Jacki could be found socializing and shopping at the Manteca Wal-Mart. Her favorite place to have family get-togethers, BBQ’s and birthday parties was Northgate Park. Camping was always a blast with Jacki; she always made the most memorable moments with her positive energy and her zest for life. A few years ago Jacki’s husband Arnold was able to give the gift of Jacki’s dream car, a “1977 Blue Corvette.” She was so proud of her car and always showed it off. Jacki was the sweetest lady who had a very special heart. Her angelic legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren and her extended family whom she loved and adored dearly. She will be missed.
