The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday that former Weston Ranch High standout James Nunnally will likely sign a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

The second-year pro began the season with the Phoenix Suns and appeared in three exhibition games. He has since been playing for the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 19 games.

Nunnally, a 6-foot-7 forward, was a three-year varsity player at Weston Ranch, where he graduated in 2008. He was twice named the Manteca Bulletin All-Area MVP and was part of his school’s first two Valley Oak League championship runs and first appearance in the Sac-Joaquin Section finals.

Nunnally went on to play for UC Santa Barbara
