Susan Mosteller, 66, passed away on Monday, Nov. 30 in Tracy at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was born January 28, 1943 in Oakland.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ray L. Mosteller of Tracy; niece, Erika Thatcher and husband Paul of Antioch; one adopted daughter and three adopted grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, the late James Wayne William Parker.

Susan moved from Fairfield to Tracy 21 years ago. She worked at Travis Air Force Base, Sharpe Army Depot and Tracy Defense Depot combined for 27 years as a production control supervisor, retiring in 1997. She was a very active person, she belonged to Tracy Woman’s Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved craft beading and taught Arts and Crafts at Tracy Senior Center. She was a volunteer in all departments at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, and she loved knitting and crocheting bonnets for the newborn babies. She enjoyed playing games on the computer, e-mailing friends and family, gardening, sewing and reading mystery novels. Susan was the proud owner/operator of a VW Corsair Trike and went riding as often as she could. According to family she was a very strong believer in organ donation. She was known as a very strong and loving woman and was always there for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Her family is planning a celebration of life service to be held at a later date. Interment will be private. Hotchkiss Mortuary is in care of arrangements.
