Andrea Cambra and Teresa Rieb were all smiles Friday at the Holiday Boutique.

The co-chairs for the annual MRPS function had twice the numbers of vendors from the previous year.

What’s more people were purchasing items either for themselves or as Christmas gifts.

“The holiday spirit is here,” said Cambra, who is also the MRPS president.

The Holiday Boutique continues this weekend with homemade items such as soaps, lotions, jewelry, candles, baked goods and plenty of gift ideas up for sale.

John Boga is offering the original Rubik’s Cube.

The 3-D mechanical puzzle was the craze about 20 years ago.

“It’s come back,” said Boga, who is one of 34 vendors taking part in the fifth annual event located inside the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St., Manteca.

A 12-year resident of Manteca, he’s also working the Holiday Boutique for the very first time.

Boga, who is retired after working for Newark Unified School District for 31 years, spent 30 years working the various Bay Area flea markets with his late wife, selling memorabilia and other nick-knack items.

Included are movie posters of Elvis Pressley and Marilyn Monroe, and pennants featuring Bay Area pro teams.

The Holiday Boutique is open today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cambra is welcoming those attending the Twilight Parade to stop by and browse the Holiday Boutique.

The snack shack featuring linguisa sausages, nachos and hot chocolate will also be open, offering dinner for parade goers.

In addition, Santa is scheduled to make a visit.

Holiday Boutique is admission free.
