St. Anthony of Padua School in Manteca is taking part in the annual observance of National Schools Week.

Kicking off the week-long events revolving around the theme for 2014, “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service,” will be a special Mass on Sunday at 10:45 with members of the Student Council participating.

Students will be taking part in the worship service by doing the readings and helping during the offertory procession. After the mass, students will be handing out the school brochures.

Immediately following the Mass will be an open house where everyone will be invited to visit the school. There will be classroom teachers on hand in their classroom to answer any questions from parents about the school and class programs offered.

In conjunction with the open house and the celebration of Catholic Schools Week, St. Anthony’s semi-annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the Rec Hall.
