Expect another collaborative effort Saturday for the Regional Occupational Program Fashion Merchandising’s Fashion Show.

The sixth annual premiere runway event will take place at the Sierra High gymnasium, 1700 Thomas St., from 7 to 9 p.m.

Featured will be 100 models from four of the comprehensive high school of Manteca Unified – Manteca High, Lathrop High, East Union High and Sierra High. They’ll be joined by 16 youngsters, who will showcase clothes from Simply Irresistible, a children’s boutique in Manteca, and M’s Clothing in Tracy.

High schoolers will have a chance to model formal wear from the Just For You boutique along with current spring trends.

“I found out about it last year during (our school) announcements,” East Union High sophomore Cecilia Cruces said. “It turned out to be a lot of fun.

“I’ve always wanted to try modeling.”

Fashion Merchandising instructor Angie Anaya indicated that many of the same businesses from the previous year are back. Included are Old Navy, Rue 21, Maurices, Styles, JC Penney’s, Guess, Banana Republic, TJ Maxx, and Gap, to name a few, along with Toni & Guy cosmetology school.

Anya and her group will receive support from the following classes – Joe Waller’s Careers in Law Enforcement (security), Liz Aschenbrenner’s Fashion Design (apparel), Amy Lee’s Culinary Arts (catering), Valerie Flores’ Interior Design (VIP room), and Carol Creighton’s Video Production (recording).

Cost is $5. Proceeds will benefit the Fashion Merchandising group and their field trip to the Los Angeles’ Fashion District and DEBUT Runway Show on March 21-22.

For more information, call Anaya at (209) 601-6651.
