George and Gale Meyerhuber celebrated their 45th anniversary on Saturday, December 12, in Oakdale. The former Gale Maddocks and George Meyerhuber were married on Dec. 12, 1964 in Bergenfield, New Jersey. They have lived in Manteca for 25 years.

A surprise anniversary luncheon for 40 guests was hosted by their children, Jennifer Chapin and her husband Anthony of Oakdale and Kathryn Kerling and her husband James of Salida. They have four grandchildren, Breanna, Troy, Evan and Justin.

The color theme for the celebration was sapphire blue with snowflakes. Guests came from New Jersey, Kentucky, North Carolina and Los Angeles. A handmade quilt incorporating photos of their life together was made by Patricia Pope. Gale’s three sisters Joan, Lynn and Mary attended the celebration and George’s godson Klayton Pope and nephew Sal DeBella also attended.

George is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. Gale is retired from Manteca Unified School District.
