Scary times to saints in Ripon

Halloween in Ripon has two themes this year with the usual scary costumes and another with children dressed as religious saints from years ago from St. Francis of Assissi to St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary.

The Second Harvest Food Bank is about to get a new refrigerated 28-foot-long trailer that will allow its Mobile Fresh operation to distribute an array of vegetables as well as meats and cheeses to residents in Manteca, Lathrop and Tracy neighborhoods.

Timothy Spino, 29, has been identified as the murder victim who was fatally shot Friday night in a home in the 200 block of Jessie Avenue in front of his girlfriend and child, according to family and friends.

Walker, 34, robbed & stabbed on Spreckels Ave.

Manteca Police said a man, 34, who had been out for a walk at 11 p.m. on Thursday was robbed and knifed on his arm by a group of four men accosted him near Spreckels Avenue and Phoenix Drive.

Police pursuit nabs suspect in hit and run at Main & Yosemite

A traffic accident at Main Street and Yosemite Avenue at about 1:40 Monday morning turned into a hit and run that was observed by an on-duty gang suppression officer Detective Lance Casqueiro who attempted to catch up with the vehicle as it fled northbound on Main Street.
