Stanislaus deputies follow Manteca search with arrest

Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputies followed the trail of a murder suspect Thursday night from Oakdale to Manteca and ended up on Hammer Lane in Stockton where they arrested Abraham Martinez, 25, in a motel where he had allegedly been hiding out following a recent deadly shooting in Modesto.

Stabbing victim bicycles away from officers; declines to talk

A stabbing victim believed to be 19 years old rode away from Manteca Police shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday saying he did not want to talk with officers after a fight between three males was reported at a convenience store in the 400 block of South Main Street.
