Plant sale today, Tex-Mex dinner/dance next Saturday

Colony Oak Elementary School's 7th grade is having a garden sale. All of the plants are grown at the school and taken care of by kids. The sale will be held in the school parking lot today, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Mud, barn dancing & more!

St. Anthony of Padua Parish School Barn Dance and Rib Feed will take place in the school gym (505 E North Street) on Saturday, May 16, from 5 to 11 p.m. Dinner will consist of all-you-can-eat Fagundes tri-tip and ribs, baked potato with all the fixings, salad and bread. This is a fun-filled family event with face painting, games, and dancing. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for ages 5-12 and children 4 and under are free. Rina’s Run this Saturday adding healthy kids fun fair

ICF shrimp feed Saturday; prayer breakfast set May 7

The Italian Catholic Federation will be having its annual "All You Can Eat" shrimp dinner Saturday, May 2, at the St. Anthony Church gym. No-host cocktails begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7. Dinner will include pesto pasta, salad, bread, dessert, and beverages. Don Garibaldi will provide accordion music. There will be a raffle and silent auction of baked goods. LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

I love books. I taught myself to read at the age of 5 and haven't put a book down ever since. As a child I won several "Queen of Children's Readers" contests held at the local library, where they kept track of every book I borrowed, and several years in a row I came close to the number 300.
