BugFest in Stockton, rodeo fun in Oakdale

The Men's Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ripon Post 1051 will host its Seafood Platter at 12455 West Ripon Road on Saturday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be 50/50 raffle and a DJ entertaining the guests. Donation of $15 per person is recommended.

From elegant edibles to spring fashion & tea

The Manteca Sororptimist Spring Tea & Fashion Show is Saturday, March 29, at noon at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane. Tea is served at 1 p.m. with a three-course luncheon. Models from age 15 to over 60 will show off fashions from Maurices and the Dress Barn. Tickets are $25. They are available at Tipton's in downtown Manteca or from Soropotimist members.

Shrimp feed & fish fry to Civil War re-enactment

Manteca's Every 15 Minutes Program's 6th annual Shrimp Feed will take place on Saturday, March 22, at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant Street in Manteca. Social hour starts at 5 p.m., while an all-you-can-eat-shrimp dinner with pasta, salad and dessert will be served at 6:30 followed by a raffle at 8 and DJ playing until midnight. Don't worry about driving home though, a safe and sober ride home will be available. Tickets are $35 each. The Manteca Council #88 Young Men Institute is hosting a corned beef and cabbage dinner at the St. Anthonys Cafeteria today. Crabs, silent movies & rose petals await

Crab feeds are far from over, and on Saturday, Feb. 15, you can eat as much crab as you want at the fifth annual crab feed fund-raiser for St. Anthony's School in the school gymnasium, 323 N. Fremont Ave. Kicking off the evening will be a wine and cheese tasting at 5 p.m. (back by popular demand), followed by dinner at 6:30 plus a no-host bar, dessert auction, live and silent auctions, music, and dancing. Doggone mess along Crom Street

A couple of weeks ago, concerned residents in the Crom Street area made sure that children walk to school safely. They lobbied the city into creating a three-way stop at the corner of Foxfire and Crom Street, citing concerns about speeding cars zooming right past children walking to and from Stella Brockman Elementary School.

Combined flea market, yard sale set for Saturday

The Manteca Senior Center Advisory Committee and Manteca Seniors Helping Area Residents and Police combined flea market and yard sale is this Saturday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be 30 vendors selling garage and new items, from arts & crafts to collectibles inside the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, and SHARP will host the backyard sale directly behind the senior center building. Up for grabs will be items including furniture, sporting goods, household items, toys, electronics, to name a few. Don't miss it!
