Raging bamboo fire damages mobile home

Seventy years ago, on June 15, 1941, although the Manteca Merchants have had their share of ups and downs this season, today they invaded the home diamond of the toughest team in their league and came out winners by a 4-3 score. The losing team was Solari's, who have been threatening to pull out of the league because of "lack of competition". Willard Reiger, Louie Bronzan and Martin Bronzan each had two hits for the Merchants and Jim Theiler scored two runs.
