Commander Lee Almquist presented an artist's rendering of the ship he served on during World War II - the U.S.S. Franklin - being hit by a Japanese torpedo bomber March 19, 1945.
Ripon Chamber of Commerce President Tamra Spade is asking the city to partner with the chamber's foundation to underwrite the Ripon July 4th aerial fireworks extravaganza seen by an estimated 10,000 people.
