• RESISTING ARREST: On July 14, Manteca Police Detective Johnson and Sergeant Beall from the Gang Suppression Unit were in the area of the Rose Motel, 300 block of Moffat Boulevard, when their attention was drawn to a subject who was displaying signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was identified as Niles Breland. As Officers attempted to contact Breland, he fled through the Rose Motel complex. Officers chased and apprehended Breland. Once apprehended, Breland continued to resist and additional Police units were called. Breland later admitted to using methamphetamine and apologized for the incident. He ...

• FIRE, AUGUSTA DRIVE, JULY 13: Manteca firefighters responded, on automatic aid, to a structure fire in Lathrop on Friday evening. Upon arrival, they provided assistance at the scene and were assigned to check the attic for fire extension. Once the fire was extinguished, Firefighters assisted in salvage and overhaul operations.
