It was no sooner than American soldiers were sent to fight the Global War on Terrorism in the Middle East that local service organizations such as Soroptimist International of Manteca began to find ways to help out.
PG&E this past summer replaced 2.5 miles of a natural gas pipeline that runs from Woodward Avenue to West Ripon Road south of Manteca. The segment had been ranked its 43rd worst natural gas pipeline segment based on a high risk list compiled by PG&E.

Young men studying for the priesthood have been able to continue pursuing their religious vocation, thanks in part to the assistance provided by the Bishop's Seminarian Fund of the Diocese of Stockton. And a number of area youth have been able to play in Little League with the help of generous donations from organizations whose mission is to step up when there's a need.
