Driver claims leg injury following hit and run

The Lathrop City Council's regular meetings on the first and third Monday of the month will be rebroadcasted on the Tuesday after each meeting at 7 p.m. The council members, at their most recent meeting, also decided to continue the rebroadcasting of the regular meetings on Wednesdays at noon. Council meetings are broadcasted live on Cable Channel 97. In December, the council voted to change its regular meetings from every first and third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. to the first and third Monday of each month. ESCAPES SERIOUS INJURY

An intoxicated 30-year-old homeless man with the last name of Swanson was clipped by a westbound Union Pacific train and dragged 70 yards near the Yosemite Avenue crossing shortly after 6 p.m. Monday. The man escaped serious injury and reportedly only had shoulder abrasions. He was transported to a local hospital.
